Setup / Configuration
All setup functions are handled with simple screens. Operations are inputted by point-and-click or drop down boxes preventing users from entering unsuitable values.
The power of the Confirmed Automation System becomes apparent with the English translation tool, which automatically types a sentence to describe the setup information entered into the drop down boxes by the user. When this sentence correctly describes the user’s intent, confirmation has been provided that the setup has been done correctly.
Defining Input and Output (I/O) Points
The first tab on the CA Setup screen is the I/O Point Setup tab. This shows a simple table listing all of the terminal strips to which the equipment is connected. The user enters a name for each terminal location. For example, the users selects the row where the room lights are connected, and simply types the name Room Lights into the entry area. For inputs that require filtering or scaling, this is completed in this same screen.
Build Human Machine Interface (HMI) Screen
The interface screen lets you see all of your equipment status. If the CA Controller is connected to a temperature measurement instrument, the temperature will be shown on this screen.
The user just selects the location on the screen where the connected device is to be shown. Select a picture and the screen configuration is complete.
Write Program Rules – Input conditions to perform actions.
The program rules will read information from the connected devices and then turn outputs on or off. For example Room 1 Lights can be turned on if the temperature in Room 1 is greater than 75°.
The program rules can include a number of continuous or batch operations, and nested rules can be used for complex equipment operation where required.
Entry of the program rules is handled by filling in boxes on the entry screen. When the boxes are complete, pressing the update button will show you an English translation of the rule you have entered. If the sentence describes the operation as you want, the rule will work. This translation tool provides the power to let anybody program the Confirmed Automation System, expensive computer experts are not required.
Alarms / Schedules
Alarms can be programmed using the alarm setup screen, and then can be programmed to be sent using the program rules screen. The setup screen provides information such as the alarm name, description, and where the alarm is to be sent. This will setup up emails and phone call alarms.
A program rule can be written for sending the alarms. So, if the temperature is greater than 90° in Room 1, the Room 1 High Temperature alarm will be sent.
The schedules setup tool allows the user to create complex schedules for equipment operation. Multiple options allow the user to create different actions on weekdays or weekends, different timing for different days of the week and also repeating items. The complexity issue is handled with our translation tool which shows a clear sentence that describes the schedule entered by the user.
